Wow. This was our largest round but also our longest round yet (by a long shot). Thanks to everyone for participating! We had a lot of new artists this round and the interpretations were all very interesting. Thanks to BB for finding an awesome starting picture. I'd just like to give kudos to Drooly and Culd for writing and interpreting such a massively descriptive interpretation. You guys made me so happy.
Original ImageBB's InterpretationA young boy is standing outside. The ground is covered in snow and it is lightly snowing. He is wearing a yellow-brown hunting cap and a red coat, with his hands tucked into his pockets. He looks at a threadbare sapling of a tree thoughtfully. Behind him is a lush yellow fir tree.
Nova's InterpretationDrooly's Interpretationgeneral image: the image is horizontal. it's a landscape with a boy in the foreground standing next to a dead/barren young sapling and a full grown pine tree (christmas tree) in the background to the viewer's right.
details: the bottom 3/4 of the page is snow - all white. but it's a slightly darker white (this is important cuz you are going to dot the page with falling snow in white, and it sorta is visible over the snowy ground). the top 1/4 of the page is the sky, which is a gradient of a lavender purple at the bottom to a lighter lavender-pinkish color at the top. where the sky and ground meet is not a straight line; the horizon line is wavy (representing the snowy ground). think of drawing a loose, wavy line across the page with three peaks.
slightly left of center in the foreground is a stick coming straight up out of the ground. if you've ever seen "a charlie brown christmas", it looks like that dead christmas tree charlie brown gets, except with no needles whatsoever. it looks more like a slender branch coming out of the ground. it's curvy (not straight up and down) and all dark brown. there are two smaller branches coming off the right and left side - they are staggered so there is one starting on the bottom right, then another one higher up on the left, then one higher up on the right again, then one of the left almost to the top. oh and the stick doesn't start at the bottom of the page. give it some space to start up a little higher.
slightly to the right of center and a tiny bit further back than the tree (like a LITTLE bit back) is a boy looking sadly at the dead sapling. the boy is the same height as the tree/stick in the ground. he has a simple, peach-beige colored oval face with two round eyes looking at the tree and a mouth (represented by a line) turned down in a frown. he is wearing a green hat so you cant' see any hair at all. you don't see any ears either. his hat is like a messenger boy hat - it's like a flat cylinder on top with a rim that goes over his forehead. he doesn't have a neck - the red coat starts right under his head. it's like a pea coat. it is closed (so there is a line down the middle of his body to show that) and has two buttons on the left of the line (at the bottom and chest). they are two circles in a slightly darker red. the hands/sleeves are tucked into pockets on his side, so you don't see hands.
his pants are a dark navy blue, and his legs/feet are together (no space between them). he is wearing dark brown shoes. his body and outfit are outlined in a thin black line. his mouth is just a black line. the lines on his coat (for wrinkles, pockets, outline of the buttons, etc) are all black. same for his pants and shoes. his eyes are two white circles outlined in black, with two black pupils looking down and towards the tree.
this dead tree and the boy don't reach over the horizon line.
almost at the top of the horizon line, to the viewer's right, is the full tree. it's not all the way to the right of the page. it's closer to the boy (but in the background). the bottom of it starts in the snow, but the midpoint of the tree (the needle part) crosses over the horizon and the rest of the tree is in the sky. it's your typical christmas tree - brown trunk, green body (like three triangles stacked on top of each other). it too is outlined in black lines. there is some snow resting on the sides of the tree.
lastly, there is some snow falling. this is represented by some large-ish white dots falling from the sky, and also over the ground plane.
oh and there are slight shadows under the tree trunk, feet of the boy in a darker grey. small ones.
Culd's InterpretationMono's Interpretationt's a scene from southpark. idk why it's always from southpark. but I think this is kyle... Im not sure. he's wearing a green hat, red coat & blue pants. the setting is winter, it's snowing and he's standing on a field of snow with a single pine tree behind him. kyle is looking at the ground infront of him, something is sticking out the ground like a leafless pine tree smaller than him. the only way I can describe it is a tree ROOT sticking out the ground.
Lakers's InterpretationBeto's InterpretationThis kid has a red, long-sleeve shirt with two pockets on either side of the shirt. He has blue jeans, and black shoes, but the type of drawing is similar to that of South Park, so his pants and shoes are short and tiny. He has a surprised face, with a wow smile. He has one of those winter hats that has two flaps coming down on either side, it is green. There's a christmas tree right behind him. It is snowing and he is slightly bending over to pick up some snow with his left hand (right hand to us looking at it from the screen). There's a pile of snow in front of him.
Ashoo's InterpretationVon's InterpretationThere is a big Christmas tree decorated with big and smaller sized prunes and a white star as the top centerpiece.
Next to the tree, stands a little kid dressed warmly, with a green helmet and matching mittens. He is holding a little snowball next to a pile of snow. By his side, is his trusty pink pig companion that looks expressionless.
The kid's eyes are converging, probably due to some kind of neurological disorder.
His lips stretched into a sort-of-cynical smile.
His arms are extended diagonally by his sides, I guess his triceps and deltoid are stiffly contracted to create this awkward-you'd-think-he's-in-rigor-mortis-posture.
Vin's InterpretationFrom the amount of time this round took, it seems like people are losing interest. Unless this is not the case, I think this will be our final round for a while.
