this is one other one i love on wiki: there's a technical term for the smell of the air when rain falls after a dry spell or on dry, undisturbed land... i love this smell

Exploding head syndrome sucks! You hear a loud, high pitched bang inside your head. At least it doesn't hurt. Scares the crap out of you though.

Nah, no pain. It hasn't happened to me at all lately. It used to happen to me back when I was in college. I would get it once or twice a night for a few nights at a time, when I was drifting in and out of sleep. I was really stressed out and tired all the time back then, which the article says is a cause. It's just...so...weird!
