i guess this isn't really news, but it was an interesting article by a reporter. he took a handful of prepaid credit cards and gave them to people who asked for money, only asking that they return the card when they were done buying what they needed:

Thanks for sharing this story. It should be noted, however, that whenever i talk about how different toronto is from chicago or new york, i always mention that even the homeless people are nice. I think canadians are just different!
