| Has anybody ever tried Balut? My friend was eating this and offered me some but I thought it was pure insanity. I don't think I can conjur the strength to eat that. |

| I love seafood prepared raw or cooked. In regards to squid though it is a texture thing. The squid is very chewy and the tentacles are sorta crunchy J Mike have you tried Morcilla? its a blood sausage |

| Eww I hate morcilla Gross they say balut taste just like a hard boiled egg with a slight taste of chicken. The funky part is the juice it has in the egg. |

| I love raw and cooked seafood!!! BUT I agree with Althie~ I refuse to eat squid/octopus bc of the chewy texture... and sea cucumber idk if I'd like.. oddly though I like snails and abalone even though they do have a bit of a chewy texture. MY favorite has to be raw Salmon wrapping tiny fish roes dipped in soy sauce & wasabi.. oh AND crab... I LOVE crab.. especially salted egg yolk coated crab that's deep fried~ |

| ah the fish thing kinda bugs me a bit.. mm.. idk.. *thinks* It doesn't sit well with me.. not like whether or not I can stomach it, but more of a why torture it kind of thing with the fish--because you've already cut up parts of it basically.. the eating of a raw octopus or squid i think im a bit better about bc its not like you're torturing it. Everything's alive when you kill it and a lot of things are alive when people overseas cook it. And with octopus and squid, they're still moving after being cut because of the leftover electric pulses--not because they're alive. IF I did eat squid and octopus--which I don't-- I'd have no problem eating it after it's cut up. Think of it this way.. when they steam/boil lobsters and crabs at truly fresh seafood places, they're still alive-- They're just being boiled or steamed to death. It's the same thing. And when they cut up fishes--if it's really fresh then they're still alive when you first cut them. It's just they're usually "knocked out" by the end of the knife of the butcher.
I'd like to note that I've grown up with my family killing live chicken, fishes, seafood, even turtles in/around the house (this was all mostly done in HK not here). I'm quite a bit more use to it than most people are here.
I don't think I've tried anything like that before, but I MIGHT if they knock the fish out first and it's not breathing like that one in the video.. that saddens me.... And er actually.. sea snail's not really slimy.. it's chewy |

| Yingz I want to try the egg coated Crab Ohhh Abalone ceviche delish. The sea cucumber I have yet to try. I can't and probably never will try to eat snails because of this http://www.spike.com/video-clips/v7wki4/1000-ways-to-die-brain-wormsMike those videos I would choke and that torturing of the fish no thanks. Quick instant death is better Yingz, did you ever have to pull the feathers off the chickens? From my experience it was never an easy task |

| If you everrr get the chance, you definitely need to try the Salted egg yolk crab... IT is SOOOOO good. Here's a picture to got your mouths watering: ewww althie now you make me scared of snails... actually, i don't come by snails often.. snails are becoming more and more expensive in HK... oh you know what's good? Garlic + Green onion wok fried Mantis Prawn. That stuff is DELISH. Here's a picture: Actually you can see the snails I'm talking about in this guy's post on Day 4 on Lamma Island. That's a very famous island in HK. Here's the post: http://www.halyconstudio.net/blog/?cat=390And naw, I never had to do any of that work I was a young kid at the time so I just watched my mom/family member do it. I've been told it's very hard and tedious and it looks disgusting. I remember they did have a trick to it.. something about putting it in boiling water real quick or something like that. I don't remember-- It's been so long.. TT^TT |

| Yingz you are making me crave That looks so goooooooood maybe if I look hard enough I can find a restaurant that makes it. WOW those prawns are probably so delish I cannot imagine how expensive it would be here Now those snails look tasty, not like the ones in the video but since watching that I'm freaked out Those picture from the link of HK are amazing. The hills, ocean, markets, and houses remind me of Puerto Rico. I haven't been back in so long it was very time consuming but in the end very tasty |
