Five Quarters of the Orange
Salmon Fishing in Yemen
A Brief History of Tractors in Ukranian
and everything ever written by Charles Bukowski - Google this guy! Brilliant!

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova.

Aborhsen Chronicles by Garth Nix.

Things that everyone should have read before they grow old and soggy:
Le Passeur (I recently discovered it was initially in English as "The Giver),
Le Parfum,
1984,
Et si c'était vrai (Translated to English later into "If Only it were real)

The Giver. Really good book, read it a long time ago, I plan to read it again whenever I have the chance. Very Happy

@Mono - My aunt told me those books are REALLY good. Did you read them?

Yes there are, read those too. Very Happy

The first is The Giver, the second is Gathering Blue, and the third is The Messenger. They all have something in common for the most part, though the second is a bit different (The Messenger is basically the direct sequel to The Giver).
The author (Lois Lowry) also wrote Number the Stars. Really good and deep book of the Holocaust.

omg I love those books

If you like biographical/historical fiction look at Susan Holloway Scotts books, theyre very intriguing. They have to do with Great Britain & the king of England & all that juicy, juicy jazz. Yes, jazz.

For fantasy the Dark reflections series by Kai Meyer are Go read them if you can

I highly recommend The Rule of Four.

I am currently on page 11 and I am quite impressed with this fine piece of literature.
