LOL! This might seem really random to you, so I'll explain how I got to this topic. I'm studying dermatology this month as part of my course curriculum and I was reading the chapter on plastic surgery and scarring.. and then I decided to look up some photos on google, and it led me to a blog of someone identifying post cosmetic surgical scars. And she had blogged the youtube video of another asian girl whose had surgery herself (I think 2 rhinoplasty, if I'm not mistaken) and is answering frequently asked questions about her experience.
I thought it was cool to hear about the patient's side of things, so I continued watching her video... and then she answers the question "How do you dig your nose?", because her alar reduction (the wings of your nose) made her nostrils (the holes of your nose) very narrow (I guess she used to pick her nose with her fingers before surgery). https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=vUXidWrouZ8#t=265s so she picks her nose with a metal stick or a Q-tip that she twirls around booger, similar to the way you twirl your fork around spagetti.
Anyways! I never pick my nose with any object or finger because as a child, I always thought it'd deform my nostrils XD (I haven't read any scientific proof that supports or opposes that idea lol it's purely out of my childhood imagination). What I do is that when I wash my face with water, I hold an amount of water in both my hands together and I completely submerge most of my face in the water. Naturally (like when you swim), you expire through your nose when you do that lol. No mucus comes out, don't worry; but it does humiidify any dried secretions you had before. And when I'm done washing my face, I take a tissue paper and I blow my nose and I find it gets rid of any secretions that were hard to blow out when dry.
There are sprays available in stores that contain saline solutions (basically water + salt, concentrated to match your body salt content, so for long use, it is more comfortable), for ppl who need to rince or humidify their nose all the time (like if your heavily congested during allergy season and you don't want to take meds).

mmm.. I never paid attention how frequently , usually I just blow my nose with normal tissue paper when I need to. Its more when I need to do it often like when I'm sick, then I think using water cause then I won't need to blow my nose as hard and I won't make my nose irritated (red) like if I blew my nose often with only tissue paper

i think von tackled this before, but noses can't be re-shaped with these weird methods, surgery is the only way to get the perfect nose. XD
maybe it's just me, not being racist but I feel like because south korea is obssessed with "idols" and beauty in general it makes them look wayyy too vain.

since I suffer so much from allergies I always have a box of tissues near me and a whole bunch of them inside my purse. Also about 3 different allergy pills. The Nasal Spray tried it once and it made it 10x worse

poor ashu!!
no, those roller things won't work the way they advertise them to. They especially won't work on their target population (grown up people), and definitely won't work if you plan on quitting after not seeing any changes in 6-8 months of every night wear (which I believe is the trial period of most people).
I think the only way that you MIGHT see a difference around our age, is if you wear them every night (and day - and you'd have to try to stay home most days to wear them, unless it doesn't bother you to go out with one clipped on) for 20 years. That's a huge lifestyle change and a long timespan, and it's your decision to weigh out if the "MIGHT get a slightly perkier nose in 20 years" is worth the discomfort, clogged pores, and black heads on nose for 20 years. In my opinion, I'd rather get more sleep and take care of my skin's health to prevent aging in these 20 years , I think it's a more sure time/energy investment.
I think the roller things have a better chance at being effective on young children (like if your mom made you use it everyday since you were 4-6 and until you are about 18-20), but there's no guarantee that growing up with nostrils forced shut won't have repercussions on the child's development and you probably won't know if the roller thingi had any impact because you don't have your "natural 18 year old" nose to compare to unless you have a twin sibling who didn't use it for those years. Anyways, I doubt parents would do that to their young children and I'm not sure if those things are sized to fit toddlers

So yeah, like mono said the most sure alternative to reshape your nose would be plastic surgery (but then you wouldn't be able to do the pig nose D: why would you give up doing that?! oink oink XD), or using makeup to create the illusion of a slimmer and taller nose bridge and the illusion. A lot of my korean girl friends are saving money for a nose surgery and I've seen some girls put a load of makeup to change the way their face appears (but it's weird, some of them never smile or open their mouthes because it makes their face shape not the way they want it to be. they just look grumpy and pouty all the time XD) I think a big part of beauty comes from a person's happiness and acceptance of him/herself. When you feel comfortable in your skin, it shows and you give off a natural charm.
